I think that ChatGPT was built by friendly, cheerful people. Relationships obviously matter a great deal to them, as ChatGPT is always so focused on me and how I feel.
The problem is that the AI and others like it can be a little too positive and cheerful.
Trying putting this line (or something similar) into your prompt:
‘Give me a tough love response. I want specific ideas and clear advice. Give it to me straight.’
Of course you will have to amend the prompt, depending on what you are asking the AI, but you get the drift.
I have included this prompt in my personal AI marketing consultant and it has made a big difference to the quality and usefulness of the responses.
Don’t follow this advice if you prefer to only hear from relentless virtual optimists who are always saying how great you are.
