Google is promoting its Google Merchant Center service, which is free to use. This is a digital platform where online retailers (or service providers with productised services) upload product data that fuels Google Shopping Ads (formerly Product Listing Ads).

Within the Google Merchant Center (GMC), you also provide information about your eCommerce store, shipping, or taxes.

GMC is a listing service that can help people to find the products that you’re selling on your website or in an online marketplace.

With regards to the question: Is it really free? ….Google says:

Yes. You can show your products and shop on Google for free, just like you can show your website in Google search results at no cost. When you’re ready, you can supplement your free listings with paid advertising. Paid product ads show up more prominently and can reach even more potential customers. With Google Ads, you choose the goals that you want to achieve, and you’ll never pay more than your monthly budget cap.

I have always felt that service providers should embrace e-commerce. You can ask me how via:
The Marketing Compass website.

Thanks go to Brian Murphy from Green Building Encyclopaedia for bringing Google Merchant Center to my attention.
